Step One: Earn an Emergency Temporary License

- Complete 8-Hour Virtual Nurse Aide Certificate Training
- Complete 30-Minute In-Person Competency Assessment
- Complete 3-Hour Virtual Emotional Agility Under Pressure Training
Step Two: Join SkillsRI's Dispatch Program & Earn $25/hour
- Earn a Great Income While Completing Clinical Work (as referenced in the next step)
Step Three: Earn Full Certification as CNA
- Complete 80-Hour Self-Paced Virtual Course
- Complete 40-Hours of Eligible Clinical Work
Eligibility Requirements:
- Must be a Rhode Island resident
- 18+ years of age
- Authorized to work in the United States (I-9 verification form)
- Have access to a computer or smartphone to access the scheduling program
- Must pass a background, fingerprint, and drug screen check, provide proof of required immunizations
- Possess a strong interest in a healthcare career or have experience as a Medical Assistant, Phlebotomist, Home Health Aide, Pharmacy Technician, or similar role.
Note: previously working CNA's can become re-certified through this program. These individuals will need to complete the training in full, regardless of prior work experience.
